Compare the full weight range, not just the lowest number. If two rackets overlap on paper, their specifications cannot tell you which individual racket will be lighter. Ask about the actual unit and try the racket where possible before making weight the deciding factor.

A real comparison: overlapping ranges

CAROE lists its Graphite Series at 350–370g. NOX lists the AT10 Genius 18K Alum 2026 at 360–375g. The overlap is 360–370g. That arithmetic does not make the rackets equivalent; it shows why “CAROE is lighter” is too broad a conclusion about every unit.

CAROE Graphite Series 350–370g
NOX AT10 Genius 18K Alum 2026 360–375g

A hypothetical 369g CAROE would weigh more than a hypothetical 361g NOX. Those are illustrative values within the published ranges, not measurements of products we tested.

Make your comparison like-for-like

Write down whether each figure describes the manufacturer’s specification or a particular racket weighed by a seller. Then record what was attached when it was weighed. Comparing a bare specification with a racket carrying extra grips or a protector creates an avoidable uncertainty.

Do not turn a weight figure into a promise about comfort, power or injury prevention. It answers how much mass is being described. Your confidence with a return, volley or recovery needs a separate assessment.

Your five-entry buying worksheet

  1. Exact model and year: copy the full name, not just the brand.
  2. Published range: record both ends, including units.
  3. Actual unit: ask whether the seller can provide a measured weight.
  4. Setup: note included grips, protectors and any removable weights.
  5. Demo notes: record control and confidence on familiar shots, rather than inventing a numerical performance score.

Leave an unknown field blank. A complete-looking comparison built from assumptions is less useful than an honest shortlist with two questions still to answer.

Who should investigate these examples?

Consider the CAROE if its specification matches a racket you want to try; inspect the CAROE model notes first. Consider the NOX if you specifically want to investigate its configuration and features; see the NOX specification guide. Neither is declared a winner here, and beginners should not treat a professional player association as a fit assessment.

Before ordering

If your shortlist relies entirely on two catalogue numbers, keep hiring while you arrange a demo. Our first-racket guide explains how to turn hire sessions into a more useful decision. Use the specification checklist to check the rest of the listing.
